Safety Plan

 

 

  • Proper safety measures will be practiced to ensure that the safety of all students will be maintained.
  • Backpacks and personal belongings will be placed in the bleachers to ensure a safe playing area.
  • The PE teacher will maximize activities to include continuous student movement. 
  • All students are to dress in appropriate gym clothing, athletic shoes and socks. 
  • The PE teacher will plan appropriate lessons in different activity areas for maximum usage of gym space. 
  • The PE teacher is CPR/AED certified.
  • When outside, the PE teacher will position themself for maximum visibility of students and accessibility to students.
  • The PE teacher will carry a handheld two-way radio and/or cell phone.
  • Guidelines for going outside in excessively hot weather is 100 degree temperature and cold weather is 40 degree wind chill.
  • Students will follow the PE rules and procedures.
  • If the gym floor is exposed to bodily fluids, a sanitizing system will be in place and will occur in a timely manner.
  • Illness or injury, as reported by parents, will be considered but with modified participation. Doctor notes will be accepted for non-participation.

 

 The following PE rules and procedures will be followed, presented and practiced throughout the year:

Respectful to teachers, classmates and school property.

Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.

Listen and follow directions at all time.

No gum, food or drink in the gym.

No dangling jewelry, rings or watches allowed.

No cellphones allowed in the gym or gym bathrooms.
